Atlantis by the Numbers

Younger Dryas 10,800 BC to 9,700 BC was a brief return to glacial conditions. Dryas refers to a flower that grows in a cooler climate.There are at least two suspect theories for this particular anomaly: disruption of the Gulf current, or alternately, meteor impact. Comets have different trajectories than meteors; that is, they can be dated by exact historical record and in the end become a swarm of meteors.

There is only one written record (Timaeus, Critias) by Plato regarding Atlantis, which seems to be a fantasy rather than a historical document. There is no way that there can be military operations over a distance of thousands of miles more than 11,000 years ago. He also uses place names, (Libya, Italy, Egypt, etc.) that give the story credibility rather than legitimacy. In Critias, the place described is the Minoan civilization on Crete, in which case the date would be correct,

1,700 BC + 8,000 BC = 9,700 BC.

A second source is considered to be the solution to the mystery; namely, the pictograms at the famous site in southern Turkey, Göbekli Tepe (pot belly hill). Carvings on the megaliths can only be star charts, perhaps with critical information. The site is considered impossibly advanced for the time; which would be about twelve thousand years old. Even though this is not proof of comets or ice age, there is a way to fit everything together.

Consider a large comet that passes by Jupiter as it makes its way into the inner solar system. The ice, dust, and rock are torn apart by tidal forces and after some time drift into Earth orbit. A meteor the size of one of the megaliths at Göbekli Tepe can explode in the atmosphere with the force of an atomic bomb. If these things are coming down over a period of a thousand years; then, Plato’s description of a Great War makes sense.
